Installation in brief

From the Microsoft Store: click Install on the Store page. Windows installs the package and keeps it up to date automatically; no warning appears. The following applies to the download from this page.

The download provides the file CompareDesk.appinstaller. Double-clicking it opens the Windows App Installer, which fetches and installs the signed package. A separate setup program is no longer required. After installation you can immediately carry out 25 full comparisons.

Open the file: double-click the downloaded file CompareDesk.appinstaller. Windows shows the publisher and the version.
Install: click Install. The process takes a moment and requires no administrator rights.
Start: CompareDesk appears in the Start menu. On first launch you choose the interface language.

For unlimited use, activate CompareDesk with your licence on the page Activate licence.

System requirements

CompareDesk requires Windows 10 from version 1809 or Windows 11 in the 64-bit edition. Neither Word nor Excel needs to be present; the program works on its own. Allow about 400 megabytes of disk space.

Updates

New versions arrive automatically. Windows checks daily for a newer version and installs it in the background. Your activation is retained; the licence key need not be entered again.

Independently of that you may check within the program at any time. The button “Check for updates now” sits at the foot of the window and takes you straight to the installation of the newer version.

Checksum and signature

The package is signed with the publisher's code signing certificate; Windows states the publisher and the version before installing. For examination by your IT department, the checksum of the package and the fingerprint of the certificate are given below.
