Compare two Excel workbooks cell by cell
With a schedule of rents, a purchase price calculation or a list of shareholdings, looking at the text is not enough. CompareDesk compares workbooks cell by cell, on the basis of the stored values and formulas.
In three steps
- Drop both workbooks into the fields.
- Optionally set rounding, excluded ranges and a key column; without any input the cell-exact comparison applies.
- Compare. The result is a workbook in which the changed cells and the new and removed rows are marked.
What you get
The marking of changed values and of new and removed rows and columns, together with the number of differences and the degree of agreement.
Both the stored values and the formulas are compared. A workbook that was not recalculated before saving contains formula cells without a result value; CompareDesk points that out instead of passing over it in silence.
On request the result is also produced as a comparison PDF.
What the comparison does not do
Charts, pivot analyses and macros are not compared as to their content. The comparison covers the cells, their values and formulas, and the structure of the sheets.
